Magical Hungary, a well-known nature photography organization undertook a volunteering activity in cooperation with Bükk National Park Directorate. Their programme, called “Today a nest, tomorrow the ocean” visited the southern slopes of the Bükk Mountains this October where they got to know the forest management activities done in the oak forests in the framework of the LIFE4OakForests project. The volunteers collected acorns for the squirrels and jays who would hide them in the forest. The acorns forgotten in the soil very often grow to oak seedlings. The collected acorns were put in „jay trays” set up in dedicated forest areas.
